PRINTER CARTRIDGES- PRICE QUALITY EQUASION
Does low price equal low quality?Keeping that Inkjet printer fed with ink, especially Black ink is like feeding a hungry puppy. Quality printing at home has become one of the biggest modern day wonders from producing university assignments to printing your own digital full color photos. That first ink cartridge thrown in with the new printer you purchased, does not last even a week and you have to go out and get replacement cartridges to feed the hungry puppy. Original Brand cartridges seem the obvious choice, right?
Wow, did you see what they cost? Almost as much as the printer! That’s crazy! That’s a fact of life- most people, when selecting a printer, do not check what the cost of future ink cartridges will be. Once you have purchased the first set of original Brand cartridges they resolve to cut down on your amount of printing, but alas, that just does not seem to work.
You soon find that the printer cartridge empties out far too quickly anyhow and now you are contemplating a compatible cartridge as an alternative. You don’t want problems with your printer, but you do want to save on the cost of printer ink.
Then you find a site for replacement compatible cartridges but the prices seem too good to be true. Comparing online suppliers prices you find a large variance, some a good deal cheaper than the originals and others a lot cheaper. Which supplier should you order from? For the cheapest ones you assume the quality must be of an inferior standard. Cheap price, low quality right? - Wrong!
Lets stand back for a minute and take a look at this issue of cartridge costs. Today all Printer ink cartridges are made in China. There are factories pumping out millions and millions every day.
Even the big Brand companies have their cartridges made in China, check the product and you will see the tell tale “Made in China” on the label. All cartridges are made out of the same quantity and quality plastic and ink, so where, I ask you, lies the big price gap?
It lies with the supplier, not the manufacturer. The suppliers overheads make the difference to the end price. Some suppliers advertise heavily like the Brand name companies, some online suppliers import the cartridges using expensive airfreight and have many staff members and large office space to pay for. High internet costs add to the mix.
If you find a lean and mean supplier hungry for a piece of the market you will usually see a lower price for the same item, that’s when you the consumer scores big. You get the same product at a much lower price.
What about the quality of the ink? Does that not help bring down the price of cheap ink cartridges? No way! The cost componet of the ink is so little compared to the cost of manufacture , packaging, transport, advertising and overheads that there is absolutely no cost savings to be made on the ink.Did you know that the outer packaging of a cartridge costs three times the price of the ink? If your cartridge manufacturer has the ISO2000 certification you can be sure that only super premium ultra fine quality ink is being used to fill the cartridge.
So if you see a compatible with good certifications and at a good price my suggestion is, Grab it!
