THE BEST INKJET PRINTER IN THE WORLD
AlmostI work at a company that troubleshoots printers of all makes and Brands and I have made a mental note of some of the worst printer Brand names and models inflicted upon the unsuspecting public. These poor pitiful people buy these printers in good faith, lured by low prices and glossy ads. They pay exorbitant prices for the brand name ink cartridges because they only want “the best” for their new printer.
A few months down the line it will start giving problems, showing error messages that will not go away. These people try everything they know to clean the print heads, power the printer on and off a thousand times, they go out and buy a new set of ink cartridges hoping that will solve the issue but it does not. That’s when they end up on my line frustrated and crying because they need their printer every day.
The solution does not lie with the manufacturers warranty or an extended service contract. Sure that does help but would it not just be better to have a printer that prints away day in and day out, year in and year out? Would that not be even better if that printer worked just as well with cheap compatible inkjet cartridges at a fraction of the price.
Well I have just such a printer in my home and I am going to tell you about it. It’s the EPSON C64 inkjet printer. I purchased this printer when Windows 98 came out because my old EPSON printer did not have windows 98 drivers and I had to trash it. The printer did not cost more that $75.00 at the time. The EOM cartridges of coarse cost almost the price of the printer but like a newby printer owner, I wanted “only the best” for my new baby.
I can honestly say that this EPSON C64 printer has worked virtually every day with no problem at all. It is just the best inkjet printer in the world! I clean the print heads now and then by using the auto maintenance software that comes on the printer CD disk.
A faster updated version is the Epson CX7400.Its cheap and very reliable using the inexpensive generic T0691 series ink cartridges that sell for under $4 each.
I have for a long time now used compatible ink cartridges that are infinitely cheaper. Take a look at
www.usainktank.com where the cartridges are $3.90 each. This printer takes the T0441 black cartridge and three-color cartridges T0442, T0443 and T0444. The cartridges normally last me two months; sounds like a good deal right?
There is one issue I must tell you about. The Epson C64 came out before there was this rage about printing your own digital photos at home so the paper feeder is designed for regular paper. I just help the thicker gauge photopaper get started with my hand and I get brilliant looking pictures every time.I see Eopson now has the C64photo modwel so I guess that model makes provision for the thicker photo paper. By the way
www.usainktank.com also has excellent quality photo paper for $1.95 a pack of 20 sheets of 8.5 x11 inch. That makes 4 to 6 big photos or one huge size picture of my cat. All without breaking the bank and without that awful frustration I hear from others.
If the Epson C64 is no longer available in the stores get the newer Epson C88 printer.Cartridges for that are also under $4.00 each.Whatever printer you decide on, first ask the attendant at the store what size cartridge the unit takes. Make sure it is not less than 36ml unless you really do not print that much. If you are a student or have a business, do not get a printer that uses the 18ml cartridge or you will be replacing cartridges too often. Then, before you buy the printer check out how much the CARTRIDGE costs by doing a Google search. Compare OEM cartridges to compatible cartridges. Seriously check out the prices of compatible cartridges because this one factor alone will be your biggest cost factor over the life of the printer. The non-original ink cartridges work just as well as the branded ones, believe me. This one tip alone will save you a small fortune over the years. Happy printing!
